Red Cross, Tell City Fire Department team up for "Sound the Alarm" installing free smoke alarms
This event will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
It will involve door-to-door canvassing, starting in the neighborhood where a fire killed three children.
This canvass is designed to help protect residents and make sure they’re knowledgeable about home fire prevention and preparedness.
This event is part of a nationwide American Red Cross Home Fire Campaign.
The Red Cross responds to nearly 64,000 disasters a year, with majority of those being house fires.
If you would like to volunteer for the canvassing event, RSVP at volunteerindcs@redcross.org.
Training will begin at 9 a.m. at The Depot, 333 7th Street, Tell City, Indiana.
